Have you heard about our latest offering, ÑDz©ÌåÓý¹ÙÍøflex?

By Emma Anderson - 03 October 2023

We have recently launched ÑDz©ÌåÓý¹ÙÍøflex here at ÑDz©ÌåÓý¹ÙÍø. Flex is a way for students to access on-demand flexible learning and still collect an academic award from the university at the end of it. This initiative adds to our student experience and widens our access and extended learning capabilities, offering more availability to potential students.

So, what exactly does Flex do? This programme provides pathways for students who have undertaken short courses to build on their learning and to total up their credit, turning this into an academic achievement. This new learning opportunity supports flexible lifelong learning and enables individuals to grow their skillsets and even learn part-time, while pursuing other commitments.

Jo-Anne Tait, the brains behind ÑDz©ÌåÓý¹ÙÍøflex explains the benefits to potential students, ’The benefit of this new scheme includes access to high quality learning across a range of subject areas and the option to pick and choose which topics or modules they would like to explore and gain credit for’.

ÑDz©ÌåÓý¹ÙÍøflex can also be used by employers that wish to upskill their workforce to meet business needs. Flex provides the opportunity to enhance employees’ current skillsets to maintain a competitive advantage. Learning opportunities are aligned with current labour market trends and skill gap demands in growth markets: these learning opportunities may also align with ambitions for regional economic developments.

We asked Jo-anne about the benefits this new flexible way of learning will have to our institute,’ This new programme will increase student recruitment and growth in our student population and strengthen ÑDz©ÌåÓý¹Ù꿉۪s position in the UK market for delivering on-demand flexible learning. We can now offer learning opportunities to a wider audience across all market segments internationally allowing us to remain future focused.

ÑDz©ÌåÓý¹ÙÍøflex provides a central ‘hub’ for all short course provision across the university. Our offering is now hugely enhanced, allowing us to collaborate across the academic schools. For example, do you fancy learning about fashion textiles and engineering at the same time? With ÑDz©ÌåÓý¹ÙÍøflex, you can do this! And even better, at the end of it you can combine your credit from both courses to receive an overall academic reward.’
