What attracted you to your course at 亚博体育官网?

Before coming to 亚博体育官网, what were your expectations? And now that you are here, have your experiences differed?  

Before coming to 亚博体育官网, I expected a high-quality education with strong practical learning and industry connections. Since arriving, my experience has exceeded expectations. The MPharm program is highly hands-on, with clinical placements, patient simulations, and real-world case studies enhancing my learning. Beyond academics, 亚博体育官网鈥檚 campus is stunning, set along the River Dee with a perfect blend of modern buildings and green spaces. 

What's the best thing about being an 亚博体育官网 student?  

The best part about being an 亚博体育官网 student is the welcoming community and hands-on learning that prepares you for real-world success. The diverse student body, industry connections, and top-notch facilities create an ideal environment for growth. 

Are you on a Placement and where are you doing your Placement?  

As an 亚博体育官网 pharmacy student, I鈥檝e had amazing placement opportunities each year, which is a great way to apply classroom learning in real-world settings. I鈥檝e completed a community pharmacy placement in Dundee and a hospital placement in Aberdeen, both giving me valuable hands-on experience. These placements are a fantastic way to build confidence, develop practical skills, and see firsthand how pharmacy works in different environments. It's one of the best parts of the course learning beyond the classroom and putting theory into practice! 

Describe your favourite memory of 亚博体育官网 or your Placement so far?  

One of my favourite memories at 亚博体育官网 was during my hospital placement in Aberdeen. I got to work alongside experienced pharmacists, shadowing them during ward rounds and seeing how they make real-time clinical decisions. It was eye-opening to witness how the medications we study in class directly impact patient care. 

Tell us about your most challenging or rewarding project, assignment or module. What did you like or dislike about it and how has it helped you?

One of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences at 亚博体育官网 was formulating ibuprofen tablets in the lab. We had to carefully measure ingredients, mix them correctly, and use a tablet press to create the final product. The best part was testing our tablets to see if they met the required standards checking their hardness, dissolution, and effectiveness. Seeing whether they worked or not made the whole process feel real, like what happens in the pharmaceutical industry. I loved the hands-on learning and how it connected theory to practice. It was challenging because precision was key, but it taught me the importance of accuracy, problem-solving, and teamwork all essential skills for a future pharmacist. 

What is your favourite way to spend your time when you are not studying?  

When I鈥檓 not studying, I love traveling to different cities and exploring Scotland鈥檚 incredible castles. In Aberdeen, I enjoy strolling through the city, checking out local cafes, and spending time by the beach. The cafe scene here is great there鈥檚 always a new spot to try, whether for a quiet study break or catching up with friends. 

What would you say to someone considering studying at 亚博体育官网? Any advice you would share?  

If you're considering studying at 亚博体育官网, my biggest advice is to get involved join different societies, meet new people, and make the most of every opportunity. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there and try new things, whether it's a society, a sport, or a networking event. It鈥檚 a great way to build friendships and gain experiences beyond academics. Most importantly, ask questions! Whether it鈥檚 about coursework, placements, or career advice, there鈥檚 always support available. 亚博体育官网 has a welcoming community and taking that first step will make your experience even better. 

What do you enjoy most about living in Aberdeen?  

What I enjoy most about living in Aberdeen is the perfect mix of city life and nature. The city is compact and easy to explore, yet it has everything great cafes, shopping, and entertainment. The food scene is diverse, with plenty of cozy spots to try different cuisines. The people here are welcoming, and there鈥檚 a strong student community, making it easy to feel at home. Plus, traveling from Aberdeen is a bonus as it鈥檚 close to breathtaking castles, coastal walks, and the Scottish Highlands, perfect for weekend adventures. It鈥檚 a great place to study and explore.
